new fabrics and new patterns…

There have been a lot of packages being dropped off at the shop the past few weeks…whenever the boxes arrive it is like Christmas – – we can’t wait to get the box open and see what is inside – and yes, most often it is new fabric!

So today we wanted to give you a peak of some of the latest fabrics that have hit the shelves.

New Liberty of London Tana Lawn Classics have arrived…they are just beautiful! Each print is better than the next and just get our creative juices flowing with thoughts of what to make!

The Cotton & Steel fabric has finally arrived! There has been so much excitement around this fabric launch and it is all true – – the fabrics are bold, vibrant, innovative and incredibly modern and are sure to stitch up as great garments, accessories you name it! We even had someone recently buy the Sarah Watts print with the lions to cover a chair for a girl’s bedroom – how fabulous!

Check out the lion fabric stitched up as our “Kaira Skirt”  – a student made this during our August Mini Sewing and Crafting Camp…

And we made up a sample of the P&N Chloe shirt we made in camp (modeled by one of students) in the grey and turquoise geometric print. We are sure we will be sharing photos of many more projects using these fabrics.

Dear Stella’s “Dress Me” fabric from the Wild Collection by Wee Wonderfuls is adorable – – the fabric is covered with playful illustrations of animals that are drawn so that they can be dressed up either by appliqueing or embroidering their outfits.

We were inspired by the play mat that was created by Nicole from Modern Handcraft and attached the fabric to a pin board to have out in the shop along with a variety of outfits that can be used to “dress” the little creatures – a little interactive fun for our clients and students!

We even did a bathing suit! The possibilities are endless with this fabric.

Also, new is the GLOW collection from Amy Butler – – she always pairs such incredible powerful and energizing colors and prints!

The “What A Gem” Collection by Alison Cole for Camelot Fabrics is exactly that a “gem”. Love the Dreamcatchers!

In addition to fabric we also have recieved the new patterns from Colette – – her new dress the Mabel (designed for knits) and her two new dresses the Myrtle and the Moneta – we stitched up the Mabel skirt using a black and white striped knit from Riley Blake – shown below. We made the Myrtle in a fabric from Amy Butler’s Glow Collection – the Myrtle is also designed for knits as is the Moneta which is on our list to make next!

We are still expecting more new fabrics, patterns, books, kits and more in the coming weeks so we will be back again to share about more new!
