hand-stitching inspiration…

One of the best parts of having a passion for creativity especially in the world of sewing and crafting is there are so many ways to express yourself and endless projects to make – well at least the team at Pins & Needles finds their list of projects constantly growing!

Recently, many of the crafty girls at P&N have been exploring the various forms of hand-stitching – – needlepoint, cross stitch, embroidery and even hand-sewing!

A favorite project I hand-stitched was the cross stitch of Molly that was inspired by the “Cross Stitch Family Portrait” from the Martha Stewart’s Favorite Crafts For Kids. I did my portrait of my most lovable family member – MOLLY!!

More hand-stitching…a framed embroidery Emily stitched up to test drive the CozyBlue DIY Embroidery Kits we carry at the boutique. It incorporates so many of the classic embroidery stitches – stem stitch, french knot, back-stitch and more! These kits are a great go-to for stitchers of all skill levels.

A signature project for our hand-stitching birthdays is our mini dog pillow (well you can actually do any animal) – this is a simple project that can be completed with some extra fabric scraps, hand sewing thread and felt! Check out all the doggies stitched up during a recent b-day celebration!
