A Baby Shower and a Tutorial

We had a fabulous time at my baby shower this past weekend! I am so lucky to have so many wonderful friends and family members and I am especially lucky to have such a wonderful friend, Rachel, who hosted this beautiful event here at the shop.

We wanted to share some photos with you of some of the details and hopefully inspire you to make some of your own party supplies at your next get together.

Rachel set up this adorable candy bar with large yellow and blue marshmallows, blue and yellow candies including jelly beans and sweet tarts in the shape of pacifiers, and a beautiful mimosa cake from Lady M.

On the drink bar and throughout the shop we hung paper garland. We cut out triangles in yellow, green, blue, and white, and punched small holes in the corners and strung skinny blue ribbon (1/16″) through to make garland. We served a delicious punch that looked like it was a bubble bath with duckies floating on top, white and red wine, mimosas, water (with custom-made water bottle labels), and soda.

My friend Heather put together these adorable small plant favors together that had stickers on them that said “We are blooming with love” to go with the theme of the shower.

As an activity, we had appliques and fabric markers out for guests to adhere to onesies and bibs.

The results were too cute!

My friend Darcy Miller came to the shower and decided to illustrate a onesie with her famous illustrations, I just loved the outcome.

She also made an adorable card and have everyone who attended the shower sign it. It’s such a special keepsake from the day.

In the front of the store we hung white tissue paper pom poms and hung rain drops from them. We used this area as the gift table.

In preparation for the shower we made almost everything ourselves, minus a few paper products here and there. One of the details we made were these cloud pillows that had paper rain drops hanging from them. We thought in case you were planning on hosting a similar shower or party that you might want to know how we made these adorable, yet easy pillows. They’re great for decorations like we used at my shower, but you could also hang them in a nursery as a decoration or leave the rain drops off and use them as decorative pillows.
