Crafter Hours

Check out some photos from our first Crafter Hours event held right here at the store. We teamed up with Dana Freed, who is the mastermind behind this event last month and had such a great time! People stopped by to embroider, knit, and crochet while enjoying a glass of wine. Our next Crafter Hours will be happening […]

Fabric Remix: Spring Flowers

For our latest store inspiration board, we decided to showcase some of our favorite floral prints on some simple stretch boards. We also created a couple sets of adorable felt flower garlands to add a little splash of color to the mix.  And that is exactly what has inspired this week’s remix. Enjoy!

Fabric Easter Baskets

A tisket a tasket, it’s that time for Easter baskets! And I think the best Easter baskets are those that you can keep and give year after year. So I like personalized options that you can either buy or make. I especially like the monogrammed versions or ones with the child’s name embroidered on them. […]

Envelope Pillow How-To

One of the first projects I ever made at the shop with Rachel was an envelope pillow, which is one of the simplest, yet chicest accessories I have in my apartment. I was able to whip out 4 in a matter of two hours and the more you make, the easier and faster they get. […]

Polka Dot Inspiration Board

We are crazy for polka dots! And we’ve been seeing them a lot of them all over the runways, the store windows, fabrics, and even jewelry. You can even check out our polka dot fabric remix, which includes some of our favorite fabrics here in the store. Here are just a few of our favorite […]

Mommy-to-Be: Embroidered Bibs

I love to sew, knit, scrapbook, and overall just craft, but I had not tried embroidery since I was in girl scouts which was many moons ago, that is until this week.   Rachel has some great kits from Baby Treasures that are adorable and easy to embroider. They come with three bibs, the embroidery […]

Fabric Remix: Dots

This week’s fabric remix is inspired by two of our most recent polka dot additions; a rich purple with magenta pink dots and a dark gray with smaller baby pink dots. We intermixed the two with some fresh corresponding prints that are sure to bring out the color and the fun in these two polka dot […]

City Tote from Maggie Makes

We love scouring all of the hundreds and thousands of craft blogs out there, but one of our personal favorites is Maggie Makes. Both because she’s lovely, but she also has such great taste and fantastic (and simple) projects. From time-to-time here on the Pins & Needles blog we’ll be bringing you projects from other […]

Quilting Review: Dare to be Square

We have a great selection of books in the shop that range in different topics and styles. Lately, I have been obsessing over Dare to be Square  by Boo Davis.  I’m not a quilter but I really wanted to give one of her projects a try. So with the help of Mandy, our resident quilter here at Pins & […]

Blogging Your Way in NYC

A few Sundays ago I was lucky enough to join a group of extremely creative and talented women at the Blogging Your Way workshop hosted by the fabulous Holly Becker of Decor 8 and Leslie Shewring of A Creative Mint. Two blogs that have been on my “must-have” list of blogs to read!   Back in […]
